I feel like the past six to eight weeks Rockwell has really started to make so big strides forward. He has always been a very mellow baby almost to the point of thinking maybe he should be a little more active. I have never had any complaints though. I have thoroughly enjoyed having a laid back boy. He has always seemed okay with whatever life threw at him with no desire to change it, until around Labor Day. He got the bug to move around. Since then it has been one little mile stone after another.
He has been crawling now for a while. It started with the army crawl and he then he mastered up on all fours. Its the cutest thing to see his tiny buns up in the air. He is getting pretty fast too! He is also starting to pull himself up onto things. He will hoist himself up onto a toy then push it around on his knees. He hasn't pulled himself up in his crib yet but I expect that is not far away. He loves to chase Finch and April. He loves to play with Daisy. In the car she will make him giggle and giggle, its one of my favorite things. He is talking a lot now. He even said his first word, Dada. We weren't sure the first time, but the second time he saw Aaron and it was very clear that he knew his Dada. Rockwell does like me a lot, but I have a strong suspicion he will be a Daddy's boy. The other day when Aaron got home from work Rockwell saw him, smiled the biggest smile and crawled all the way to Aaron's feet. I loved it. Rockwell also has an obsession with electrical cords. I know yay! There is a spot in our house where one is visible. It is child proofed where the outlet is, but if he yanked hard enough he could pull a lamp down. So I am constantly watching to make sure he doesn't hurt himself. The fun thing though is that he knows that he is not suppose to touch it. He will crawl to the cord then excitedly wave his arms waiting for me to come and pick him up. Its his game. We also have a big purple ball the he loves to hit all over the house He will push it then chase it over and over agian...until
I want to video it, then he stops of course. He also loves blankets, soft fluffy blankets. He dives into them head first and loves to nuzzle them. He loves to swing doors back and forth. He giggles when he get to go on swings. Daisy freaked out the first time she swung. He is still nursing. He sleeps 12 hours most nights. He is eating most foods now. He also finally got some teeth! Last Friday we noticed one of his bottom teeth finally poked through, then a few days later the second bottom tooth poked through. I am relieved I was worried he was going to be one of those 18 month old kids that don't have teeth. I also finally took the clippers to his hair, he was looking pretty scraggly. He is smiley and snuggly and loves to play. He also gets patches of dry skin on his cheeks and I found a sticker in his poo the other day...oops.
I love my little boy.
He was 10 months the day I took this picture.
He weighs 16 pounds and a few ounces. He is a tiny boy and I love it.
He is also 26 and a half inches tall.
His tiny toes! I can't get enough of them!
Rock.
