I need to learn to have a camera on me at all times...

When it comes to freezing a moment in time in the form of a picture, I am no good. I haven't been very diligent lately about keeping up with pictures of our comings and goings. Our lesson in relief society yesterday was on developing our talents. I was in and out because Daisy was spewing spit up like a fountain but what I heard I liked. I think like most people, when I hear the word "talent", I automatically think of someone who can sing or dance or something that is an obvious talent. Then I think I don't have any talents other than being athletic and that is a talent that I don't necessarily use that often anymore. So I have decided that I need to find out what other talents I have... or create a talent I would like. So I am going to work on the talent of taking more pictures. This may seem like the easiest of talents because all it requires on my part is to have a camera and then press a button. But I love looking at pictures and reminiscing about the memories they make pop up in my mind. So I am going to be better about taking pictures...

On a different note Daisy got her first tooth this past week. I noticed it on Saturday June 11th. She hasn't been to fussy about getting her first tooth. She mainly expresses her feelings of discomfort through various grunts and squeaks. The tooth is on the bottom and according to my dad that means she will be a strong willed girl. I think he is right. Daisy is good little baby and is growing healthy. At her 6 month appointment she weighed 14 pounds 12 ounces and was 25 inches long. She is in the 25% percentile for both weight and height. She is my buddy during the day and is now rolling every which way she can.

I decided two weeks ago that I was going to do the south beach diet. And I can proudly say that I followed it to the T ( except for a few sugar free peppermint patties). I have lost 7 pounds so far. Today started the second phase of this diet which means I can now eat fruit and whole grains. Yay! I think that I am the smallest I have been since I was maybe a sophomore in high school at least I weigh the same now as then. But my body is no longer the shape of a sophomore in high school... I have recently found a new respect for people who are consistent and diligent in the care of their bodies. It is hard to not indulge in whatever food you fancy and it is also hard to work out. I have never needed to work out in my past because I always had a game or practice that was my work out and I was required to do it if I was to get better and to play. But now if I am going to exercises it is completely on me. That's hard, but maybe its a talent I need to work on... if I want rock hard abbs : ) or maybe just a little less jiggle. Anyway I have actually enjoyed this diet, I feel good and enjoyed seeing a slightly smaller number on the scale in the morning. However, I think that I am going to exercise more and work on eating healthier.

For maybe the past month I have also been reading the entire Harry Potter series. I am on book 6 now. I think this is the first time I have ever read the whole series through. I used to listen to them on cd and would almost have them memorized. So now that I am reading them I can't listen to them while I do other things... which is kind of annoying because I am an impatient person who like to get things done quickly. I have enjoyed reading them though. My goal is to finish them before the seventh movie comes out.

My favorite summer show is back on, So You Think You Can Dance! Aaron can't stand this show, which sucks for him because I love it. If I could go back in time I would have tried to dance, and I say tried because I was not gifted with rhythm... at all. But it still seems like it would have been so much fun. I am amazed at what these dancers can do with their bodies. I love jazz and contemporary. I also love that we have a DVR because the judges annoy me and I love being able to fast forward past that lady judges annoying scream...
