So guess who got to pick our last date? Thats right me! Just kidding Monster Jam was Aaron's pick and he did good. For the past while our main date has been dinner and a movie. We both were getting a little bored with the same-o-same-o. The commercials for Monster Jam have been on for the past month and everytime Aaron saw it he would ask me "Would you go to that?" and I would say "Yes". I don't think he believed me till maybe the third or fourth time he asked. So he got some tickets from a friend and we went to Monster Jam.We had to get to Chase Stadium a few hours early to park and find a place to eat dinner. I have only been to downtown Phoenix once for a Sun's game and that was at night. So this was a new adventure for me. It was fun walking around down there. We spent most of the time guessing who was going to Monster Jam and who was going to the Sun's game. I also counted six mowhawks. I thought I would see more.
Here we are at the Hard Rock Cafe. I had never been there before and I can say I am good. My burger was disappointing, but it was fun to go.
We had pretty good seats. Although a very large Monster Jam fan and by large I mean he was a big boy came and squeezed next to me. We were in bleacher seating and it was a little snug. He was also the epidemy of a redneck. It made me laugh and I thought well I guess this is just part of the experience. Luckily though he switched seats with his friend's girlfriend.
We got to see Jeremiah and Bode too. Their seats weren't next to us but we said hi before it started.
And here they are. It was pretty cool, these huge trucks flying 30 plus feet into the air.
They are also incredibly loud. Like make your lungs shake loud. I think Aaron and I had a smile on our faces the whole time.
I also had a bit of a Monster Jam history lesson from Aaron. I learned that the truck named Grave Digger was the one that started it all, that he's been doing it for 30 years, and that he is the best.
Most of all I had fun with Aaron. He picked a fun date.
