Our garden...

A garden is a learning experience. So far we have eaten lettuce out of our garden and it tasted like dirt. Aaron was concerned that I did not wash it. I did : ) I may not be the best cook but I can clean lettuce. Anyway it has grown and looks like a thriving garden, but so far we haven't had much produce from it. I have a few tomatoes, a green chile, and some zuccini. So the next time I grow a garden I will remember this:

Support cages for my tomatoe plants. The wind ripped out two of them. I knew I needed them in the first place, but I was to lazy to go buy them.

Don't plant garlic. I planted four garlic plants and they all rotted, I left them in the ground to long I think. We also don't eat that much garlic.

Its too hot for my poor cucumbers. They gave out this week.

So next spring I will only plant tomatoes, squash, and peppers. I think I will do more research too.

5 Months Old...

Yummy fingers!

Bangs anyone? Oh to have a baby with hair : )

She loves her bath. Its all kicking and smiles.

Daisy turned 5 months old yesterday. She is the cutest baby. She is so little and petite but very strong. I have been going to a class at the library for babies. So far I am sure she doesn't know what is going on, but she loves to look at everything and is very attentive. I see more and more of her personality everyday. For example at the baby class we go to, they have a parachute that they pull out at the end of the class. Daisy does not like the parachute. She starts to pout and then cries every time it starts to float through the air. She is also starting to tell the difference between people who are holding her. She still is good about letting other people her hold her, lets hope that sticks : ) When I go into pick her up from her nap she can hear the door open and I can hear her little legs start to kick and when I look over the crib she has the biggest smile. I love it! She likes to suck her thumb and is spending more time on her tummy. With the budding personality has also come the "i want cry". Overall she is a content baby, but she is starting to learn that she can cry for more than just food and sleep. I wish there was baby translator that told me what she wanted. I actually heard there was an app for that, but I don't think it works. We love this little girl!

Wendy's Apple Pecan Chicken Salad

So a few weeks ago I was craving this tasty salad. Its roasted chicken, craisins, sweet apples, mixed greens, roasted pecans, bleu cheese all covered in yummy pomegranate vinaigrette. But the Wendy's closest to our house has been closed for remodeling. Weeks went by of me driving by Wendy's looking to see when they would open. Then finally I saw signs of life. It was around 8 O'clock in the evening as I saw a whole bunch of employees out in the front planting flowers and picking up trash. So I thought they must be open since it is looking so good, you know all remolded and freshness. So I pull into the back exit wending my way through all the construction cones, thinking that they were just there left over from the remodeling. I pull through to the drive through imagining how good that salad is going to taste. I noticed that they had a new digital order taker, but it wasn't lit. So I am sitting there waiting and waiting to hear a voice to take my order. Nothing happens. Can you guess what happened next? Well one of the employees planting flowers comes up to my car and says "were not open". And the sad thing is I wasn't even embarrassed I was just ticked that I didn't get my salad. But that might be my blond moment for the year : ) And just so you know... Wendy's opened two days later and I came back and got my salad.

Phone Pics

I was looking at all of the pictures on my phone the other day and realized that I have a lot of pictures that have fun memories tied to them. Some of them are old and from high school and others are brand new. This is mostly for me, I like remembering the stuff behind the picture.

I took this picture maybe an hour or two after Daisy was born. She looked so tiny in Aaron's arms that I had to take a picture.

This was on the ride home from picking up Finch for the first time. He was my 20th birthday present. He snuggled up there because he was afraid of the car. He was so small and cute. Even now that is his favorite place to be when I hold him. Just a side story... every night after I put Daisy down for bed, Finch will come, find me and wants me to hold him. Who says pets don't know what's going on?

I took this picture this February when I went up to Pinetop to visit my mom and dad. I was stopped for road construction and while I was waiting they did some blasting. This little picture doesn't do it justice, but it was very impressive and made the delay worth it.

Daisy looks so much like her dad. So I decided to make a comparison. This is Daisy at about a month old and the other picture is of Aaron taken at the hospital when he was born. This picture is blurry, but you can still tell how much they look alike.

This is a funny picture... just chillin.

You can't see my face, but this was taken at Green's Peak when I was 17 on homecoming... wow. Anyway I love it up there. It is so beautiful and holds a lot of great memories.

Besides being a beautiful picture of my sister Heidi... the night I took this picture was the night I met Aaron for the first time. He had only been home from his mission for about a week, when he was wrangled into coming over to Heidi and Jer's to play games and meet me! I will never forget how nervous he looked haha : ) Oh and Heidi you can find a nasty picture of me and post it so we're even.

I am a little embarrassed to post this picture... it may make me seem like I was a bit off as a kid, I don't care though it makes me laugh. Anyway I think I drew this picture in the fourth grade. If you look closely you can see a girl hanging over jagged rocks about to fall. And next to that girl are two names, one is scribbled out. The name scribbled out is Hannah and the name clearly is Ashley. These two girls were my best friends growing up and still are very important people to me. But I must have been mad at them one day in the fourth grade. Life was so dramatic for a fourth grader haha. Sorry guys if you ever read this blog, I hope you find it funny too.

I don't like this picture, but it is one of the only ones I have that was taken while Aaron and I were first dating. We were at the Brooks family Christmas party, 2008.

Through out high school, I had many pictures like this of me and Ashley. We had a lot of classes together and got bored alot. So we took pictures. This was our senior year in English. I was all tan from track, I think that was the last time I was tan.

\
This isn't a very good picture because it doesn't show the whole story. On day before Valentine's Day 2009 I came home from a date with Aaron to find this in my room, an explosion of pink and red. To understand why my room was decorated I need to go back a little bit. Aaron and I weren't technically dating... but we really were. He was being very sweet and letting me take my time to warm up to the idea of marriage, not that I didn't want to marry him, but I was only 19 and a scaredy cat. Anyway that night he took me out to dinner then we saw Confessions of a Shopalcoholic (he likes all movies, one reason I married him). The whole night he kept checking his phone, more than usual, which I thought was weird. The night ended and went home. When I opened my door this is what I saw... balloons, hearts, and streamers EVERYWHERE. His little sister Heather and a friend had spent their entire night decorating my room for Aaron for me. It was the sweetest cheesiest thing ever and I loved it. Needless to say the next day I told Aaron for the first real time that I loved him and I still do.

This is the picture I sent out when I got engaged. This is a fun picture to send because you don't have to write anything with it, everyone just knows what it means.

This is a collage of my senior year volleyball team. It was a good team and a fun year.

And this picture is the miracle picture. Everyday after track my senior year I would ice my legs in the whirlpool. It would get really boring just sitting there in that freezing water so I would play with my phone. One day after icing I put my phone in my hoody front pocket and leaned over to undo the water plug. I hoped out of the whirl pool and saw my phone floating to the bottom. I screamed and grabbed it out of the water. It still worked and had somehow taken a picture from the bottom of the pool up at my arm pulling it out. It makes me laugh because it was like a call for help from my phone. Anyway I blow dried it and that phone still works.

Ever have one of those days?

I took this picture in my ENG 102 over a year ago. If you can't tell my shoes don't match. One brown and one black. I was looking through my phone and saw this picture and it made me laugh. Made me laugh because this class was late in the afternoon and I didn't even notice my shoes didn't match all day. Oh well : )

Four Fabulous Months

Last week was Daisy's four month check up along with more shots. She weighs 12 pounds, 9 oz. and was 24 inches long. She is in the 50th percentile for both weight and height. Her doctor said she is growing well and is a healthy baby. I am so glad to hear him say that. She did so well with her shots too. She barely cried and then was fine for the rest of the day. I am still nursing and want to do so as long as I can. However, Daisy has different ideas. Lately she has not wanted to nurse. Which of course sends my brain in to overload with thoughts of "Am I making enough milk?", "Does she have acid reflux?", "Does it put her to sleep and that makes her mad?" "Does my mild taste bad?" And then she will eat fine with out a fuss or care in the world. I enjoy nursing. I like the time with Daisy and I am glad that I have been able to do it so far (plus its free!). So the plan is to push through for as long as I can. Daisy is a sweet little babe and is starting to giggle. She giggled for Aaron last night. Those little giggles are so much fun! Baby laughs, actually baby anything, is so much more fun when the baby is your baby! Except poop and things of that nature : ) those are always gross not matter the baby. Daisy is now becoming a pro roller. She still can't roll back once she get on her stomach, but now she will spend lots of time looking around and reaching for things while she is on her tummy. She is also very expressive. She has her Dad's eyebrows and uses them. She likes to just stare at people with a look the is almost accusing, but very cute.

More than once I have gone in her room to get her up and she somehow has gotten the blanket over her head.

This picture is just for me : ) She is so cute.

She can now hold and shake the rattle.

Rollin....

A version of her accusing stare...
