She'll Be Coming Down the Mountain When She Comes...

I have been bothering my Mom to come down to visit for a while now, and she did! My Dad decided to take one last trip to Colorado this weekend, so my mom came down while he did that. She came down Wednesday afternoon just in time for She, Daisy and I to catch GCC vs. Scottsdale. GCC lost, but it was so fun to watch good volleyball. Also brought back a lot of memories, I do miss playing at that level, but I am glad to be where I am. Anyway Thursday brought my sister Heidi's Fall Swap Party. If you don't know what that is, its a party where you bring a basket full of fall stuff and then play white elephant. We spent the day baking, cleaning and also got to eat Barros Pizza. Its the best. I am pretty sure I ate away all the past weeks of eating healthy, oh well. Friday was a laid back day. I had an eye appointment in the morning. I finally after two years of needing new glasses went and got a new prescription and fitted for contacts. My vision was worse than I thought. Just a side note: A few weeks ago I put up a backsplash in my kitchen. Its raised wallpaper that I painted. I have been on the fence of whether or not I liked it. My sister said it looked really good, but I felt like it looked like a strip of paint above my counter. Anyway the first day I had my contacts in I looked at it and realized that I haven't been able to see the grooves of the wallpaper. I like it now that I can actually see it : ). Friday night Bode got to come over and have a sleep over at my house with Grandma and Boo. He is a very creative kid, he made a castle out of paper. I was impressed with his imagination. On Saturday we drove over to Mesa to hit up some Goodwills, they are so much better on the east side of the valley. The ones near my house are not great. I found some 200 hundred dollar jeans for 15 bucks, but they were one size too small... so close. My mom left this morning and is still on the road. I am so glad she came. It was nice to not have an empty house.

 Thanks for coming down Mom!
Finch and Boo actually didn't do that bad. We like Boo.

And Bode, he found some Vampire teeth in the basket I got at the fall swap.

Goings On...

Last weekend my friend Ashley came over for a visit. Yay! We had a good time talking and shopping : )
Thanks for making the drive Ashley! Daisy and I loved having you!

Daisy sunk into the pillows at HomeGoods  : )

And this is just a fun picture of Daisy riding the toy plane at Grandpa Steve and Grandma Rena's house. She was so stinking cute on that thing.

Productivity...

So my goal of keeping myself busy while Aaron is away hit a snag... I forgot that I am not someone who likes to constantly be on the go. : ) I always snap out of it and am currently in the process of being more productive. Anyway the past few weeks have seemed very dull and slow for me. Aaron on the other hand says that Boot Camp is going by fast because he is so busy all the time, yet he says its still not fast enough. This week he is going through what they call  "Beast" week. All I know is that he is sent into the desert for a week to reenact war games. He may be alone or with his flight group who knows... He said he wasn't really looking forward to it because he would be in full gear and uniform under the Texas sun. I miss Aaron and am so excited to go to his graduation in Texas and see him, even if it is only a short visit. Like I said before its been pretty dull around here. Daisy hit a growth spurt though. She seems to be at least 2 inches longer and twice as fast. She is eating crunched up gold fish now and loves them. I got my hair cut much shorter than usual. I love that it literally takes 5 minutes to do, but I feel like I am channeling Julie Andrews, not the voice : ) I do like it though.

I don't like posting pictures of just me taking a picture of my face. I've never been one those girls who can post tons of pictures of just their face.

I also am in  the middle of making pillows. These two are what I have so far.

I forgot to post this picture, but a few weeks ago I went over to Mesa for a friends baby shower and I got to see these two lovely ladies!

Since I am currently the head of the house I have taken on the task of mowing the lawn. Not that I have never done this before just ask my mom and dad. But since we've had a lawn Aaron has mowed it. But I have been doing it and I forgot the feeling of pride you get after the lawn if freshly cut and weeded. Although our lawnmower is a piece of crap I mastered it. Now if only  my manly skills stretched to the world of cars. I got the oil changed in the Corolla this week and since I have taken it home the transmission has been acting funny and the battery is about to die. Very annoying. I think when my car sputtered to life the last time I  started it, I missed Aaron the most. I really like having a man around to take care of manly things. Like the car.

Look Closely...

So I am 99% sure that Aaron is in this picture. Look in the middle and you'll see his head haha. The military post pictures of Basic Training on Facebook. And for a few weeks now I have been waiting to see pictures of Aaron's flight group. Well they finally posted some of them getting all of their shots. Unfortunatly this is the only one I could find with Aaron in it,  but I'll take it :)

Labor Day Weekend 2011

We had a great Labor Day weekend... actually for us it was more like a week up in Pinetop. It was so wonderfully cool and rainy the whole time we were there. We ate good food, had loud thunderstorms, rode fourwheelers, picked fresh produce from my mom's garden, saw the Wallow fire :(, read James Harriet's dog stories (the farting boxer hehe). Daisy also had her first camping trip, which wasn't completely successful do to the her need for a crib combined with my new momness. Other than copping out and sleeping at home rather than the camper, it was great to be up in the beautiful mountains. Thanks for having us Mom and Dad!
Climbing up Grandma's table.

I love this picture. I have always loved the pictures of my nieces and nephews with grandpa camping and now I have one!

It is so beautiful up there right now...

I had to get a picture for Aaron of Daisy in her Puma's. These shoes were hand me downs and Aaron loved them, he even tried to put them on her when she was only a month old. They were too big then, but now they are perfect.

Cardinal's Game...

So a few Saturdays ago my friend Brenda called with a last minute invite to a Card's preseason game. I have never been to a professional football game or to Phoenix Stadium so I was excited. It was so fun to go out and do something different. Lately my evenings are filled with old episodes of Frasier : ). Daisy was even a good little trooper. She did blow out her pants right before the game but other than that she did great!

Brenda and her little girl Charlotte (who also was a good trooper) and of course me and Daisy.

Definitely a good night!
