Rice Cereal...

Today was Daisy's first go at solid foods. We have started out with rice cereal and other than being confused at what she should be doing I think it was a successful first. There are a lot of pictures posted, but every face was to funny that I couldn't not post it :)

She doesn't know how to swallow very effectively. With time though she'll be a pro just like her mom and dad.

A look of bewilderment...

She would get a mouthful, push her tongue up and squish the food out.

I know she was thinking... "what are you doing?"

Then a happy face :)

And content with a full belly.

Feeding Daisy has been on the fore front of my mind for months. I had been nursing exclusively for five months, but she never seemed satisfied and always wanted to eat. So I started to supplement with formula. I didn't really want to do this for a lot of reasons. I feel that breast is best. It amazes me that my body grew a baby then provided food for her. Everything I have read about breast milk has also convinced me that is the way to go. Each mother makes milk specifically designed for her child. It also has a sweet taste... or so I have heard. I still haven't tasted it. But Daisy was fussy and hungry, so came the formula. She likes her bottle more than my boob and has finally started to get a little fuller. She is a tiny baby which I love! She is my own little doll, a doll who likes formula. Anyway for about two months she wasn't nursing very well and with a trip to my doctor I was told that my birth control was affecting my milk supply. I toyed with the idea of stopping so I could just keep breastfeeding, but I decided I would rather have a baby on formula than two babies. This might be too much information, oh well. I still pump and try to give her as much milk as my body will make, I haven't decided how much longer I'll keep doing this. I miss my little nursing newborn, but I am glad that Daisy is getting the food she needs.

Happy Memorial Day!

This Memorial Day weekend marked Daisy's six month birthday! We went over to Nathan and Kim's to BBQ, swim, and set off fireworks. It was a good day :) Daisy also had her first experience with a pool.....

The water was still cold since it hasn't been hot enough for a long period of time to make it warmer... no complaints from me, but by the look on her face I think Daisy would have liked the warmer water.

I think she was a little traumatized for a moment, but once she got out she enjoyed watching everyone else swim. Her face just makes me laugh. I know that she will eventually love the pool, when she is a little tougher.

Isn't her little swim suit so cute?

And here are the spectacular fireworks.... not so much. But it was still fun to watch them, I had forgotten how loud they are too.

Here are the men the lighters of the fireworks. Fireworks definitely are boy things.

Heidi and Laine enjoyed the fireworks too!

Just as a side note:
While I am doing this blog Aaron has been watching the Lifetime show "Coming Home". We have been watching because one, its very good and two we are going to enter that world. It is inspiring and sad to watch what these men do and what their families do to live without a father and husband. I am so thankful for the men and women who have served and died for my basic freedoms. I am truly proud that I am an American. I think to so many people being American is meaning less and less, but to me I know why this country is here and that thousands have died for me. I am proud that Aaron has decided to serve his country... even if it only part time : ) I am thankful for my freedom.
Happy Memorial Day!

Our Cotton Anniversary

This year is Aaron and I's second anniversary. It is our Cotton Anniversary. Aaron told me he would buy me a shirt, but he decided a trip to Pinetop would be better. We got up there Sunday night and stayed till Wednesday. It was a laid back visit filled with grandparents, fishing, a date, and trip to the temple.  Monday was our actual anniversary so my mom offered to watch Daisy so Aaron and I could spend the whole day together. Thanks Mom! We spent the day up at Big Lake and then went to Charlie Clark's and a movie. Charlie Clark's tasted amazing, but the movie Something Borrowed sucked. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We started off our fishing trip with Little Cesar's 5.00 pizza deal. I remember eating way to many of these during high school.

There are two kinds of Spring in the White Mountians, the beautiful wonderfully warm and pleasant spring and the windy one. This year is a windy one. It was still beautiful to head up the mountains even in such  strong winds. However, it made fishing rather miserable : ) This is Big Lake. It may not look that big because its really not.

The fisherman. We didn't catch anything, as usual.

Two years together.

I love this picture, two of my most favorite people looking stinkin cute!

Daisy got to go on her first walk around Woodland. And thanks to Grandma Trish's awesome baby coat she was super toasty, although I don't think she could move her arms.

Here is Aaron crossing the bridge with Daisy.

When we first got up to Pinetop Daisy was a little cautious about where she was at. But she warmed up just fine and enjoyed her days with Grandma Trish and Grandpa Dave.

And us. Aren't Aaron's sock so attractive?

Marriage is Life's Classroom....

In one week Aaron and I will have been married for two years. I have come to the conclusion that the longer Aaron and I are married the more and more I will realize that this boy was made for me! He is my best friend, a good husband, and a sweet father. He balances out my worrying brain and sloppy ways. I have learned a lot from him in just two years of marriage. I have learned that I would never want to live my life alone. I am so thankful to have my companion who is stuck with me ; ) I have also learned a few things about Aaron.

He has ticklish feet.
He also has nasty feet.
He always orders chicken Alfredo when we go to the Olive Garden and never even looks at the menu.
He is all boy, I don't think I will ever be able to convince him to get a pedicure with me, but I have caught him watching movies like The Hannah Montana Movie... alone.
He will like almost all movies, He will see a chick flic with me... no problem.
He's a grazer. We will eat dinner and as soon as he puts his plate away he is in the pantry looking for crackers or such food. I remember my dad doing this too...
He is relaxed almost to a fault.
He is a good gift giver.
He has a good laugh, sense of humor, and a small twinkle in his eye.
When he comes home from work and has something to do at home, he does it first thing. Unlike me who would put it off.
He reads, but mostly church books.
He lets me do pretty much whatever I want to our house.
He wants to travel or live somewhere foreign. I am warming up to the idea of living in another country.
He hates it when I tell him to brake earlier in the car.
He can sleep and sleep.
He is a hard worker.
He doesn't like our cat Finch... most days I don't like him either.
He owns all of the Calvin and Hobbes comics and Ninja Turtle movies
He loves classic muscle cars... its almost an unhealthy thing : )
He has had a job since I think he was 14.
His favorite food is American food... aka hamburgers
He loves apple pie.
If he were to live in any other decade than our own he would live in the 50's-60's.
He likes Garth Brooks.
He wakes up to the Beach Boys everyday.
He always gives me a hug goodbye when he goes to work.
He is a good horse shoe player.
He will always give help whenever asked.
He loves to make Daisy smile.
He will eat whatever I put in front of him.
He doesn't like mayo only Miracle Whip.
He can do flips when he cliff dives.
He was an unenthusiastic student.
He bleached his hair in high school.
He drove a lifted truck when we were dating.
He keeps his CD's super organized.
He wears the same old blue hat and probable will till if falls apart.
And most of all he loves me!

Up close... haha

Moving into our house...

Last years anniversary....

Two Years and Counting

"God has brought us together as families to bring to pass His eternal purposes. We are part of this plan in this marriage relationship, let us love and respect and honor one another. We can do it, and we will be the better for it."

Ramblin...

We are currently borrowing Aunt Heidi's many baby toys. We have a bumbo, a boppy, and now this stand and play toy. Thanks Heidi! Daisy is still to little to be able to stand on her own and I have to wrapped blankets around her wiast so she can fit in the seat.
I wish I knew what she thinking when she's in there...

Hehe... I love this picture although Aaron looks unconscious.

I love her face!

See the baby?

And some onions and a green chili from our garden.
