Labor Day 2012

This year for Labor day weekend Aaron was sweet and gave up his favorite weekend of the year to go camping with my side of the family. We usually go to his family reunion in Strawberry since that is a huge family tradition on his side, but since Aaron has never been camping in my mountains we did a trade. And can I just say how excited I was! I haven't been camping with my family since I was in high school. It was so much fun to camp in the places where I grew up camping with my family ( missed you Jill!), to feel cool air, and to eat camping food. I was also happy to have Aaron with me. This time last year he was in the thick of boot camp and I remember missing him so much. This was also Daisy's first real camping trip. We did camp last Labor Day, but she was so little it doesn't count. Aaron even got an extra day off of work so we got to  spend and entire extra day away from this oven called the valley.

There are a lot of pictures below and they are mostly of Daisy. Shocking I know. They also uploaded out of order and my computer is too slow to put them in a sensible order. So here they are randomly.

Aaron surveying a spot to put up our tent.

Our little family at Sheep's Crossing.
( I never realize how round my face gets until I see it in pictures)

Daisy was not a fan of the cold water or the mud. Makes me laugh, hopefully someday she will see how fun they are!

She did love the four wheelers though. She would say "ride" and then just smile and giggle the whole time.

Playing with Grandma and cousin Abbey... Or trying to play.

Grandma was sweet and helped her pick flowers.

I love dirty little camping faces. I didn't take any of my nieces and nephews but there were definitely some dirty little faces at this camp.

Daisy and her cousin Ben. They are the closest in age about 9 months.

Cousins.

She actually was not a bad sleeper. I was curious to see how night time would go. I think I woke up more than her, I kept worrying she was cold.

Cute couple...

I am so thankful for my parents. I could list all the reasons why but that would be a long list. So I am just going to say how much I love their cooking. I am so glad my Dad is an awesome dutch oven cook. Some of my favorite memories of camping are eating dutch oven meals. So tasty.

  2. So glad you and Aaron and Daisy came. It helped erase my previous memory of Daisy camping with Grandpa and me. She was a trooper....and so dang cute!
